Skin & Scar Resurfacing

What is skin and scar resurfacing?

Montclair Rejuvenation Center tailors skin and scar resurfacing treatments to your specific skin goals. These treatments are ideal for reducing the appearance of:

  • Acne scars
  • Surgical scars
  • Scars from injuries
  • Warts
  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Age spots
  • Rosacea
  • Some types of birthmarks

As it works, the skin resurfacing treatment also evens and smooths your skin, leaving you glowing and rejuvenated.

How does skin and scar resurfacing work?

Montclair Rejuvenation Center offers multiple different skin and scar resurfacing treatments, including:

Venus® Versa™

With this innovative device, your Montclair Rejuvenation Center provider delivers nanofractional radiofrequency energy into your skin. This resurfaces the skin, minimizing the visibility of scars, large pores, uneven skin tone or texture, wrinkles, and rosacea.

CO2 laser treatment

This treatment safely ablates layers of your skin. Not only does this remove damaged skin cells, immediately reducing the appearance of scars and other skin imperfections, but it also supports your skin’s natural regeneration processes. Your skin heals itself from this process, developing new, healthy skin.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is ideal for light scarring or hyperpigmentation. During this minimally invasive treatment, your Montclair Rejuvenation Center provider gently sloughs away the outer layer of your skin. This removes dead and damaged skin cells while encouraging the production of new, unblemished skin.

Microneedling

Microneedling creates tiny injuries across the surface of your skin, triggering your skin’s regeneration processes. At the same time, the microneedles break up scar tissue, giving you smoother, more even skin.

LaseMD

LaseMD laser skin resurfacing can treat a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, uneven skin texture, and signs of sun damage such as age spots, actinic keratosis, excess pigmentation (like dark spots and melasma), uneven skin tone, and benign pigmented lesions.

Made by Lutronic, the LaseMD laser is a nonablative, 1927-wavelength fractional laser. Unlike more aggressive laser resurfacing treatments, LaseMD doesn't remove the entire surface of the skin: its laser energy creates tiny microchannels into the dermal layer.

This controlled microdamage kick-starts the body’s natural healing response, boosting the rate of cell turnover and the production of new collagen and elastin at the cellular level. Downtime is minimal. Multiple sessions suggested to see significant results.

What should I expect after skin and scar resurfacing?

It depends on the treatment you choose. Microdermabrasion comes with next to no downtime. You see some results from your treatment right away, and those results will improve over the coming weeks as your skin responds to the treatment by creating new, healthy skin cells.

If you chose CO2 laser treatment, expect some downtime (usually 2-3 weeks) as your skin heals. You won’t necessarily need to stay home this entire time, but it will be important to protect your skin from the sun, and you may experience some swelling and redness.

Your Montclair Rejuvenation Center provider lets you know what to expect based on the way they personalized the depth of the ablative CO2 laser treatment for your skin.
